  • Source region is probably a gradual faint halo CME as seen in LASCO C2; from CDAW, 2008/12/12 08:54 UT, PA 297, AW 184, Vel 203 km/s
  • STEREO COR2 A and B clearly shows an Earth-directed CME
  • Surface source region is a quiet Sun filament eruption; The Sun is in deep minimum, and there is no single active region on the front disk.
