I believe this is a complex event, caused by a merger between a partial halo CME on October 21 and the shock wave of a CME at the North Eastern Limb on the 22nd. I believe the halo CME was propagating towards the Earth, then the shock wave caught the CME front and accelerated it faster.(Hess)
Two full halo CMEs are involved in this event, but it would be good to know exactly which event produced the ICME at 1 AU (J. Zhang)
