README ====== - Analysis performed on NOAA AR 10134. - The ambiguity-free vector magnetogram of the AR is given for 7 vector magnetograms in files vec_mag_[UT time].gif - The horizontal cross-field velocity as inferred by solving the ideal induction equation for the 6 pairs of vector magnetograms of the AR is given in files vec_vel_[UT time].gif - Each vector magnetogram corresponds approx. to a 20-min average of the BBSO/VMG Stokes profiles - The magnetic field components shown are the heliographic components on the image (observer's) plane - Observation date is 09/28/02 - Observation instrument is BBSO/VMG - The file energy_helicity.pdf corresponds to the evaluation of the energy helicity formula in the linear force-free approximation for the 7 vector magnetograms of the AR. The calculation has been performed on the heliographic plane. - The file flux_imbalance.gif shows the imbalance between the positive and the negative flux vs. time in the AR. There is significant flux imbalance in favor of positive fluxes, which gives rise to the large errors obtained in the various linear force-free calculations. - The file helicity_rates.gif corresponds to the helicity variation rate in the AR for the 6 magnetogram pairs for which the cross-field flows could be calculated. Notice that *only* the helicity rate for the cross-field flows is shown; this is because we have no Doppler velocity information for the AR so the field-aligned flows cannot be calculated.
